UX Design
Naisten Linja is an organization that provides support services for women and girls who have experienced violence and works to reduce violence in society. The website improvement project was initiated because the site structure was cumbersome, and the large amount of content was difficult to manage, and it was negatively affecting the user experience.
The technical renewal of the website was carried out simultaneously with a visual redesign. The visual design was created by a different partner, while our team was responsible for the site structure and technical implementation. My role as a UX Designer was to create a sitemap.

Workshop 1:
We worked with the client to address the website's needs and content. We discussed who the users are, what kind of content will be published on the site, and what the priorities are regarding content and functionalities. We reviewed data provided by the analyst on the most searched content, the most visited pages, and link structures. We also discussed the impact of the visual redesign.
Content and UX audit:​
We addressed issues related to content readability, usability, and information architecture with the team’s content expert. I designed the site map, and based on client feedback, we created a plan that guided the website's development.​

Outcome and impact
Intuitive site that makes seeking help easier
The website was not rebuilt entirely from scratch; instead, clarifying the content and implementing a new visual design improved readability and scannability. The case study is presented also on Nitro's website.
The new Naisten Linja website was launched in the fall of 2024.

Violence is a widespread and serious issue, and it is essential to share accurate information about its different forms today, ways to seek help, and the possibilities for recovery. The website renewal helps bring forward the perspectives of those who have experienced violence and makes it easier to access the right services.

The new site is less text-heavy, and the user's journey to different topics and services is more visible and scannable. Additionally, the important function of donation is easy to find.
Learnings and measuring success
Sometimes it is not reasonable to build everything from scratch; instead, optimize the order of content, and use more links and headings.
This organization end-users who are in vulnerable situations, so it is important that they find information quickly. Naisten Linja NGO and their volunteers have gained invaluable insights into their users' needs and the most frequently asked topics. It was an honor to be a part of this project that aims to help victims violence find the right services and support.

Measurement can utilize customer feedback received by the organization's advisory services, website navigation data, and the generation of donations and inquiries through the site.
